Educational Theory Seamlessly
Combined With Real-Life Expertise
The economic order has been
transformed from one that has historically favored manual labor, routine
processes, and repetitive skills (during the Industrial Revolution) to one
that now primarily focuses on the artful application and/or manipulation
of ideas, concepts and information. As the dominant business model
paradigm shifts, education to be effective, must mirror these changes.
Dean Sarah Dennison (RMB
luncheon speaker) is riding the wave of newly emerging educational models
designed to support skill sets that will help individuals navigate this
new economic terrain. As Dean of Academic
Affairs, The Art Institutes International Minnesota, Ms.
Dennison oversees a new teaching duality designed to seamlessly combine
educational theory with real-life, hands-on expertise. She is also an Adjunct
Assistant Professor for Innovation Studies,
a newly created, graduate-level certificate program, developed under the
auspices of the College of Continuing Education, at the University of MN.
Here Ms. Dennison has worked closely with such ģinnovation pioneersī
as Arthur Harkins.
Come and hear first-hand how new
educational models are being developed to help individuals
foster a new work currency -- one that includes the coinage of
adaptability, innovation, self-leadership, self-marketing, and team
formation.
